It has been a long wait for Southwest Ohio's first operational medical marijuana dispensary, but the day has finally arrived - About Wellness Ohio, located at 1525 Genntown Drive (Suite B5) in Lebanon, is officially operational! About 40 minutes from downtown Dayton and Cincinnati, About Wellness Ohio is easily located along US-42 W in the same plaza as Walmart, Anytime Fitness, and Goodwill.
We had the amazing opportunity to make the drive down to Lebanon last Thursday for the ceremonial ribbon cutting that took place with the media and local community members. It was an invigorating experience, as owner Mac Amin and the About Wellness Ohio team members spoke with visitors about their excitement at becoming the first dispensary available for patients in need. It was not an easy road, but you could tell the team was relieved to move past the bureaucratic stage and into operations.
The Process
You will need to show an active Ohio marijuana card before gaining access to the dispensary and will have to fill out a brief "Patient Intake Form" before moving past the entrance desk. From there you enter a spacious waiting room before going back into the showroom. The layout is incredibly welcoming and comfortable, with private offices along the side of the room for more personal and detailed consultation sessions with patients.
Once the patient feels comfortable with the products available and the suggestions for what forms and strains might be most effective, the patient can enter the sleek and elegant showroom that displays all of the different products available at About Ohio Wellness.
The selection of cannabis accessories available means that you will be able to purchase anything that you may need before using your medication. Based on my walk-through, at the start of operations About Wellness Ohio will offer grinders, vaporizers, storage containers, and humidity packs, in addition to the large selection of cultivators that will be offered through the dispensary.
Based on my conversations with the About Wellness Ohio team, they plan on having at least 6 different cultivators' products available to patients, including all of the processed products currently available such as tinctures, vaporizable oils, and edibles (gummies). While Grow Ohio is currently the only processor in Ohio with products on dispensary shelves, Standard Wellness products should be just a few short weeks away before they will also be available.
The hours of operation for this Lebanon dispensary will be Monday - Friday from 9 am - 6 pm and Saturday from 9 am - 3 pm (About Wellness Ohio will be closed on Sunday).
