Cresco Labs, one of the largest vertically integrated cannabis companies in the U.S., recently announced they have finalized an agreement with their affiliate, Verdant Creations, to acquire 4 dispensary licenses in Ohio.
With the addition of these four dispensary locations, Cresco Labs is hoping to increase its brand awareness in Ohio's growing medical marijuana industry. Currently, 60% of the state has access to products from Cresco Labs, and now their products will be available to even more patients. The acquired Verdant Creations locations are located in Cincinnati, Chillicothe, Marion, Newark, and Columbus. However, the Columbus dispensary will not be included in this agreement. Subject to approval by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy, patients can expect the transaction to be complete by the fourth quarter of 2020.
With over 100,000 registered patients in the state of Ohio, Cresco has seen a 30% rise in weekly sales from February to April. Cresco believes that after having success in Pennsylvania and Illinois, Ohio is on its way to joining these states as “one of the strongest performing regulated cannabis programs in the country.”
