In the State of Ohio, it is required that medical marijuana patients renew their card annually. This may sound stressful, but in reality, renewing is even easier than getting your card for the first time!
There are a couple of things you will need to take care of before your card expires if you want to have consistent access to your medicine. Medical marijuana can really impact people’s lives, so it isn’t ideal to have a period of time without access to medicine.
Luckily, you can renew your card up to 90 days before the expiration date on the registry card!
Do I Need to Consult a Doctor to Renew My Card?
Yes, you will need to schedule an appointment with a physician each year to keep your medical marijuana card valid. Luckily, it's quick and easy as we offer telemed appointments!
You can meet with a physician from the comfort of your own home, and similar to your initial medical marijuana evaluation, you will discuss your condition and review any available medical records.
But don’t worry, you can usually use the same medical records you had at your initial evaluation, as long as the doctor approves it.
If your qualifying condition is curable, you might have to prove that your diagnosis is active and provide further documentation. But not to worry: we can help you get your medical records to ensure the process is as smooth as possible.
Will I Need to Apply With the State Again?
After your appointment with a physician, you will need to log in to your Ohio Medical Marijuana Registry account and activate your renewal card. You can click “Renew Card” and follow the instructions.
There will be a $50 registration fee required and once you pay it, you will have access to your new medical marijuana card.
