Marijuana Dispensaries in Ohio

As of July 31st, Ohio has over 293,000 registered patients. The program update, issued by the state, offers a few interesting facts about the marijuana program. For example, about 113,000 pounds of plant material has been sold, and the marijuana industry has done a total of $963.9 million in sales.

There are currently 642 physicians who can recommend marijuana, and 46 processors with provisional licenses. There are 58 operational dispensaries, and 71 total provisional dispensary licenses issued.

It’s no surprise that the medical marijuana industry in Ohio is booming, and we are also not shocked at the rising number of marijuana patients in the state. Who wouldn’t want to find safe, natural, legal relief as an alternative medicine?

Are There Recreational Dispensaries in Ohio?

Recreational marijuana is NOT currently legal in the state of Ohio. Although there is talk of an initiative on the 2023 ballot to legalize recreational cannabis, nothing has happened yet.

The only way you can gain access to cannabis in Ohio is with a medical card. Having a medical card also protects you legally against possession penalties and fines.

Where Are Ohio Dispensaries Located?

Ohio used to have only 58 dispensaries. However, back in May 2022 the Ohio Board of Pharmacy approved an additional 70 licenses for Ohio dispensary locations. This means that the number of dispensaries in Ohio is slowly growing from 58 to 131!

New dispensaries have been popping up all over the state, and the odds are high that you live within 30 minutes of one.
