In today’s blog we’re going to get down to the nitty gritty! Keep reading for everything you need to know if you’re new to marijuana.

The Benefits of Marijuana Use

Knowing the benefits of marijuana use is where we are going to start today!

You probably have heard of the cannabinoid THC. This is the most famous of the cannabinoids and is best known for being the one that makes you feel high. But THC has many properties beyond that that are extremely helpful!

THC is known for helping a plethora of conditions, one of which is insomnia. Everyone has days when they can’t sleep, some even struggle with insomnia chronically. If you can’t sleep, you can’t heal. This is where THC comes in! There are studies that have shown THC to help restore sleep regulation.

Ever heard of getting the munchies? Of course you have! This is because THC is also known for increasing your appetite. There are many people who turn to THC to help aid their medical condition which decreases their appetite such as those with cancer, HIV/AIDS or cachexia.

CBD on the other hand is the famous sister cannabinoid of THC and is also the second most well known cannabinoid in marijuana. CBD has become immensely popular within the past couple of years. This is for a number of reasons!

First CBD is known to help aid a variety of medical conditions. It helps cancer patients endure chemotherapy treatment, can reduce seizures and even has been shown to lower inflammation.

CBD is also so beloved because there are no psychoactive effects when using it. This means that you can use CBD products and they won’t get you high but you will get all the medicinal benefits that come with using marijuana!

What products Can I Get in Ohio?

Since you’re new to using marijuana, it can be hard to figure out how you can consume marijuana in Ohio in the first place. There are many ways in which marijuana products are sold in the state which all will give you a different intensity and duration of effects.

Raw Marijuana Flower:

At Ohio dispensaries you can purchase raw marijuana flower but there is a catch. You are not permitted to actually combust marijuana flower in the state. So that leaves you to purchasing flower in order to vape it instead of smoking joints. Inhaling marijuana is the fast way to feel the effects as the compound goes straight into your bloodstream!

Edibles:

Edibles are one of the most popular ways of consuming marijuana. They’re classic, easy to ingest and just fun! You can buy edibles in the form of cookies, candies or even brownies. The options are endless! But do be careful with edibles. They can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours to kick in and once you take one, there is no going back. Just make sure you start low and slow!

Tinctures:

Tinctures are less known but are one of the first ways in which medical marijuana was dispensed back in the day. Tinctures are marijuana-infused alcohol that is consumed orally. This can be either directly into the mouth, under the tongue or combined with your favorite drink. This method also has a quick onset if it is ingested orally.

Topicals:

Lastly, you can purchase marijuana topicals in Ohio. Topicals are far less famous as the methods that I have mentioned previously but they do come in clutch for many. Topicals are marijuana-infused lotions or creams that can be applied directly to the pain point that you have so they’re great for those of you with chronic pain! They are also a good product to try as they cause no intoxicating effects.
