Ohio Marijuana Card will be donating a portion of revenue to the American Cancer Society this month, specifically to the location in downtown Cleveland.
The American Cancer Society was founded in 1913 and is a national non-profit organization that is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. While the organization is mostly known for cancer research, they provide much more to the community. The ACS helps to promote healthy lifestyles to help individuals prevent cancer, provide support and information to cancer patients, and even work with lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and ensure it remains a priority. If you have an idea for a local charity that benefits one of the qualifying conditions for medical marijuana, please submit them here.
According to the National Cancer Institute, there are approximately 15 million Americans currently living with cancer, and roughly 70,000 new cancer diagnoses are made each year in the State of Ohio. Cancer is currently a qualifying condition for medical marijuana treatment in Ohio and can help patients alleviate a number of symptoms associated with the condition such as chronic pain, nausea, loss of appetite, and neuropathy.
