What To Do If You Consume Too Much Marijuana
Cannabis in the right doses can lead to a positive experience and provide the medicinal benefits you need. However, there may come a time where the edible takes longer to kick in than anticipated or you inhaled a few too many times from your vaporizer. If you find yourself in a situation where you got too high and are beginning to experience an uncomfortable high, there are a few things you can do that could help you relax.
This may sound crazy, but sniffing or chewing on 2-3 peppercorns has been said to help alleviate anxiety and paranoia associated with overconsumption of cannabis. A review published in the British Journal of Pharmacology by Ethan Russo found that marijuana and pepper have very similar chemical traits. Pepper contains a terpene called beta-caryophyllene which allows it to produce a “phytocannabinoid-terpenoid effect” that reduces anxiety.
One of the most common side effects of consuming cannabis is dry mouth, or otherwise known as cottonmouth. Drinking water and staying hydrated is a great way to help alleviate your dry mouth and can bring down the buzz.
When you get too high, it may cause feelings of anxiety and paranoia. Distracting yourself with an activity you enjoy such as listening to music or watching TV can help take your mind off of the negative feelings and help you relax.
