CBD & It's Effects On The Brain

Recent research shows that there may be a correlation between the use of CBD and the slowing of brain cell death. Researchers focused the study on the relationship between CBD and H2O2-- this is a molecule that has been deemed a possible culprit in "severe pathological conditions such as cancer, strokes, and neurodegenerative diseases." More research is needed, however the study was able to prove CBD's neuroprotective potential. According to author Jungnam Kim, CBD was extremely effective in neutralizing the H2O2-induced neurotoxicity on primary hippocampal neurons. These neurons are closely involved in the onset and progression of neurodegenerative diseases such as; Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). There are several ways to use CBD to treat a variety of ailments. With that being said, more research will need to be conducted in order to determine the best method of ingestion depending on which condition is being treated. Also note that by combining even a small about of THC with CBD, can maximize the effects of your treatment. Read more about the entourage effect, here.
