Ohio's 31st dispensary was approved yesterday with the announcement of Zen Leaf dispensary in Canton passing final inspection from the State! While Zen Leaf has not opened their doors officially just yet, most other dispensaries have been opening for the first time within about a week of final approval. Zen Leaf will be located in the Stein Industrial Park in Lot #5 at 1851 Steinway Boulevard SE in Canton.
Generally, a dispensary will open up once it receives its first shipment of medical cannabis from a licensed Ohio cultivator or processor. There are currently 17 cultivators operational, in addition to 10 processors creating cannabis-infused products such as edibles, tinctures, and topical products.
With Zen Leaf being located in Canton, the most likely cultivators to deliver products to Zen Leaf would be those within the Akron area, such as Calyx Peak, Riviera Creek, and Galenas, with Grow Ohio and Cresco Labs also being located within a reasonable distance.
With regards to processed products, there are a variety of different products that are now available in Ohio dispensaries; tinctures have become available in THC-dominant options, CBD-dominant options, and also 1:1 CBD/THC options, edibles are available in THC-dominant, CBD-dominant, and 1:1 CBD/THC options in gummies, lozenges, chocolates, and caramels form, concentrated waxes, oils, and vape cartridges, and topical salves and transdermal patches.
