Save Money on Medical Marijuana in Ohio by Making Use of AVB (Already Vaporized Buds)

One of the aspects of Ohio’s medical marijuana program that gives lots of people cause for pause is the fact that cannabis has to be vaporized rather than smoked in a joint or cigar. This is the most familiar consumption method for most long-time cannabis aficionados, and it may feel challenging to make the switch to a new way of doing things.

However, one thing that makes vaping your buds an appealing option is that it can stretch your marijuana further and be used for multiple purposes afterwards. By vaporizing medical marijuana, patients get a much bigger bang for their buck than they would from smoking their buds; and it can help patients using medical marijuana on a budget save at dispensaries.

Keep reading for more details and insights about how medical marijuana buds can be used after being vaporized.

Water Curing AVB

Among the first characteristics that stick out when it comes to already vaped bud is its taste. Water curing is a technique that comes in handy for helping to alleviate the bitter taste that comes with already vaped buds. The water curing process consists of the following:

  • First, distribute the already vaped bud into the middle of a cheesecloth.

  • Then, tie the cloth before allowing it to soak in a bowl of water.

  • Replace the water every few hours, exchanging the brownish water for clear water.

  • It's recommended to continue this process for several days. At the end of the process, get rid of the water one last time.

  • Wring out the cheesecloth and spread the still-wet AVB onto a baking sheet evenly before setting the oven at 200 degrees for 2 hours.

This process should eliminate the rough taste and aroma that comes with consuming AVB, which allows patients to use it for a multitude of other purposes that include making:

Cannabis-Infused Drinks

Now that you know how to water cure your already vaporized buds, it's time to start infusing them into your favorite coffees and teas. To enjoy a cup of cannabis-infused coffee using your already vaped bud, simply add them into your coffee grounds prior to brewing them. Adding a flavor enhancer like hazelnut sweetener or french vanilla creamer can help mask any undesired taste that may be left over.

Making cannabis-infused teas using already vaped bud is also relatively simple. All it takes is adding the avb to the tea leaves, before allowing it to steep. Similar to flavor enhancers with coffee, honey and lemon can be instrumental in helping to offset any undesired flavors left behind by the avb.

Homemade Medical Marijuana Tinctures

Medical marijuana tinctures can provide patients with a discreet, precise option for medical marijuana usage. By preserving already vaped buds, medical marijuana patients can make their own medical marijuana tinctures, directly from the comfort of their own homes. Here are the steps for making your own medical marijuana tinctures at home using avb.

  • First, mix them with a high-proof alcohol into a mason jar.

  • Then close the jar, and shake it hard for at least three minutes.

  • Now, strain it through a coffee filter.

  • For a more potent tincture, you can soak your buds for a few weeks. Shake the jar daily.

Once it’s made, all you need is a dropper that allows you to measure and track your dosages. In order to preserve its quality, the tincture should be stored in a dark, cool location away from sunlight. Tinctures can be consumed underneath the tongue, sublingually or you can use them to add to foods.

Cannabutter for Edibles

Already vaporized buds can also be used to make cannabutter, which is an essential ingredient for homemade edibles. Making cannabutter using AVB is fairly simple, especially using a slow cooker or a crock pot. Here are the steps to making homemade cannabutter:

  • Grind the AVB to a level where it’s fine, but not too powdery.

  • Add the AVB, along with butter into the crock pot, with just enough water to cover the ingredients.

  • Then, put the crockpot on low for a full 24 hours while stirring occasionally.

  • After the 24 hours is up, turn off the crockpot then pour the mixture through a strainer and into a container where it can be refrigerated and stored safely.

Then, you can keep the mixture in your refrigerator until you're ready to make your homemade medical marijuana brownies or cookies!

Eat it!

Unbeknownst to most medical marijuana patients, already vaped bud can actually be consumed directly with your favorite foods. That's the case because already vaped bud has been been through the process of decarboxylation. Decarboxylation process is needed for marijuana consumption because that’s the process that allows for the activation of the cannabinoids that are present within the bud.

Marijuana experiences decarboxylation upon vaporization, which is why digesting avb is likely to provide a different sensation from eating regular bud. So, with that in mind sprinkling avb onto foods after water curing it could be a great method for helping to make your supply of medical marijuana last longer than anticipated.

There are numerous benefits that come with vaporizing medical marijuana aside from the uses of avb, including getting the full effects of specific terpenes to treat your condition. The key to being able to experience those benefits in Ohio is getting a medical marijuana card.
